Tori’s Organic Herbal Granola Recipe

It’s the time of year for cozy, comfort foods, and who said they can’t be simultaneously good for you, too?!

Something I’ve learned throughout my journey into healthier living & eating habits is that we need to make those good ol’ comfort foods, good for us, too, cause we can’t just deprive ourselves of them - that doesn’t do any good & it leaves us craving them and snacking on other things to try to fill said cravings!

So let’s chat about how to make a Granola Blend that WON’T break the bank, and is nourishing for you, too! (Because who likes to spend $8-20 on a single bag of granola, when you can make triple the amount at home for the same price?!)

This granola blend can be used as a cereal, mixed into oatmeal, placed on top of a baked sweet potato with a lil almond butter, pink salt & maple syrup, in an acai or smoothie bowl, or really any way that you love to enjoy granola!

Also, please note that I make my granola slightly different each time & it’s a-okay to omit some ingredients if you don’t have them, don’t like them, or whatever the case may be ;)

This blend is warming to the body & circulatory system. It nourishes your body with warming herbs & spices that will help your body to feel supported, nourished & warm throughout the winter seasons, and is even delightful in the spring and fall times. I typically switch up the herbs I use a bit in the summer to make it a bit more cooling, but you do you, boo! This blend offers not only high quality healthy fats, but a lot of fiber, protein & carbs to keep your blood sugar regulated and not dropping quickly after your meal!

Without further adieu, here is the recipe for my beloved granola that has pleased countless palettes, and people absolutely love & can never get enough!
(P.S. I ALWAYS make a big batch because this is something that goes quickly in our house, so please feel free to adjust the amounts, we just always go big with this recipe in our casa! We also use all organic ingredients but if that isn’t accessible, use what you got & infuse your love into it because that’s what matters most!)

Prep Time: 10-20 minutes

Cook time: 45 mins-1 hour

What you’ll need:

  • 3-4 cups Organic Rolled Oats

  • 2 cups Chopped Pecans

  • 2 cups Chopped Cashews

  • 2 cups Chopped Almonds

  • 2 cups Chopped Walnuts

  • 2 cups Shredded Coconut

  • 1-2 cups Hemp Seeds

  • 1 cup Chia Seeds

  • 1 cup Cacao Nibs

  • 1 cup Pumpkin Seeds

  • 1 cup Milled Flax Seeds
    - 4-5 Tablespoons Cinnamon Powder

  • 1 Tbsp Pumpkin Spice

  • 1-3 Tbsp Cacao Powder (or Cocoa Powder)

  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder

  • 2 tsp Nutmeg Powder

  • 1 tsp Ground Allspice

  • 2 tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 2 tsp Ginger Powder

  • 1 tsp Clove Powder

  • 2 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt

  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

  • ½ -¾ cup Local Raw Honey

  • ½ - ¾  cup Local Maple Syrup

  • Optional: 2 Tbsp Ashwagandha Root Powder, 2 Tbsp Eleuthero Root Powder, 2 Tbsp Maca Root Powder, 2 Tbsp Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder, 2 Tbsp Cordyceps Mushroom Powder, or any other Herbal Powders you’d like to include!

  • Optional: 1 cup of Dried Goji Berries, 1 cup of Dried Cranberries

  • 2 baking sheets either lined with parchment paper or covered with coconut oil

How to:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. Mix together Rolled Oats, Pecans, Walnuts, Cashews, Almonds, Shredded Coconut, Hemp Seeds, Chia Seeds, Cacao Nibs, Pumpkin Seeds, & Milled Flax Seeds, & mix together until well combined.

  3. Mix in all herb powders, Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, Cacao/Cocoa, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Allspice, Turmeric, Ginger, Clove, Salt, Black Pepper, and any of the optional herb powders that you wish to include. Mix together thoroughly.

  4. Smell your blend... see if you wish to adjust the seasoning and perhaps add more cinnamon or pumpkin spice, whatever you feel you need to adjust because all of our senses of taste differ, so make this blend smell delightful to you & your senses!

  5. Mix in Honey & Maple Syrup. Start with ½ cup of each & add more if need be so that all of it is lightly coated with that natural sweetness! ( And infuse it with your love, the most magical ingredient of them all!) <3

  6. Pour onto baking sheets - be sure to not pile too much onto your baking sheets, you’ll want to make sure that you only have about an inch of granola covering the sheet so that it all bakes evenly. Use another baking sheet if need be, we want everything to turn into crunchy, delightful goodness!

  7. Bake for 45 minutes - 1 hour at 325 degrees. Be sure to mix every 20-25 minutes.

  8. Take it out of the oven, double check that your granola is crunchy to your desired preference, if not, throw it back into the oven for 10-15 mins until it’s at your desired level of crunchiness

  9. Mix in Dried Cranberries & Goji Berries (or any other berries of choice)

  10. Let cool completely

  11. Place in an airtight jar or container to keep it fresh & enjoy!
